The "Optical Industrial Institute Philipp M. Winter," manufactures the very first goggles through manual production in Fürth-Poppenreuth.
In 1930 company founder Philipp M. Winter equips athletes with safety goggles.
The company is transformed into a corporation. Rainer Winter, son of the founder, developed the uvex brand as a shortened version of the quality feature "ultraviolet excluded".
The uvex group starts selling fashionable sunglasses under the brand Filtral.
Start of distribution of reading glasses.
Establishing the FILTRAL GmbH & Co. Vertriebs KG as an independent subsidiary within the uvex group.
Europe-wide distribution of sunglasses and reading glasses.
Relaunch of the logo of the brand Filtral.
